Do you know the name of the “bateria” ( samba drums section) of Império Serrano, traditional samba School of Rio? Well, it’s called “Symphonica do Samba”, since it uses in average more samba percussion instruments than others. This video we can see the Samba Drums section of Império Serrano Bateria at their final rehearsal at Rio´s Sambadrome, in 2016.
This is an interesting fact too, to teach samba drummer lovers. Each samba school has it´s own “nickname” and we are going to reveal some of the most famous ones. Most of the nick names are a homage to an important Samba Master or has a history related to its main characteristic:
